We are now eight weeks into Mr. Trump’s term in office. On five weekends during that period, he has seen fit to travel to Florida, apparently for the primary purpose of mixing with his fellow millionaires at his private club. The total cost of these jaunts has been estimated to be at least $18 million. Does he think that the “single mom with two kids in Detroit” touted by his OMB Director, Mulvaney, would, if given the choice, prefer to have her hard-earned tax dollars support his frequent unnecessary travel at the expense of her children being able to watch Sesame Street on TV or having her grandmother receive daily nutrition though Meals on Wheels? If he truly wants to save taxpayer dollars, maybe he should begin that effort at home (i. e., the White House) by staying there more often.
